Fucking COVID


Who would have thought that a worldwide pandemic (is that redundant?), gym closings, work from home, lock downs and masking regulations would have an impact on my training?

If I am honest with myself then I can argue that I could have focused more on my training instead of letting it slide. I do have a home gym, bike trainer, treadmill and all the bits and pieces I need to stay in shape. I might not have been able to get to the pool but that is a small part of the overall requirement to get in shape.

A full time desk job for the last 5 years hasn’t helped the situation but that isn’t an excuse either. At my fittest I had a full time job, and was at the beginning of my career where it really made a difference how I performed at work.

I still have performance requirements at work, obviously and have had, over the last couple years up to 50 people reporting into me. But that still isn’t an excuse, so back at it!

I still have time to hit my objectives, might have to change to under 5hrs by 61 to give me a chance to hit the times but I think that is still reasonable.
